The 2010 Andover Youth Services Spring Lacrosse season has officially come to a close. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the fantastic coaches, supportive parents and of course, the hard-working and committed lacrosse players.

Andover Youth Lacrosse has come a long way since the days of co-ed play behind Doherty Middle School. This season we had boys and girls in 1st through 8th grade playing on 22 teams across 8 divisions. These players proudly represented Andover in the Patriot Youth Lacrosse League and Mass Bay Girls Lacrosse League. Each season has been a step toward a better lacrosse program, better lacrosse teams and better lacrosse players. We have seen players come through the Youth Program, move on to play in high school and college and come back to help coach. It is an amazing program that offers players of all experience and ability to enjoy a great, physical sport with their peers.
None of this would be possible without all of you. We hope to see you all next season.

Each team, coach and player deserves a congrats and a high five – but we would like to send a special shout out to our Boys U11 3 team coached by Mike McCullom and the Boys U11 4 team coached by Brian Perry. The Andover 3 Team went undefeated in the North/South Patriot League Championship Playoffs on Sunday June 13th. The Andover 4 team was also undefeated entering the Playoff Game, making it an all-Andover Championship Game.

Andover 3 never relinquished the lead until late in the fourth quarter when Andover 4 knotted the Game forcing a four minute sudden death overtime. The Game ended when Andover 3 scored first in OT.

Congratulations to both of these teams for an outstanding showing in the Patriot League Championship.

Hopefully you all have a great summer!

Thank you for another great season.
